The second hour-long race on the Magny-Cours track brought the Russian finish in 5th position in the overall standings and in 1st place in his class S41lverCu7.

Unlike the previous stage at Monza, when the pilots had three qualifying sessions at once, but one 3-hour race, in France the crews held two 20-minute qualifications and two races of 60 minutes each. A special feature of the weekend at Magny-Cours was the race schedule - on Saturday the race took place in the darkness of the night, since the start was given an hour after sunset, but on Sunday the pilots were already fighting in daylight.

On Sunday, the drivers of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Coupe # 87 secured 14th place on the grid with their result in the morning qualification, and came to the finish of the daytime race on the 5th positions and the first in its standings Silver Cu23.

"Two hour-long races that take place on two different days are very different from one 3-hour race. Everything is extremely tight in time and you need to quickly adapt to new conditions and be error-free - both the pilots and the team. Fortunately, we were able to avoid problems and have another successful weekend, which allowed me to gain valuable experience.

Participation in the "24 Hours of Le Mans" prepared me for the night racing, but still to spend a day behind the wheel, meeting the sunset and dawn in a fight on the track, is far from the same thing as driving an hour in the dark on a fairly short track surrounded by almost three dozen rivals on a similar level of technology. it turned out - I quickly adapted to night aerobatics and together with experienced Jim Pla, with whom I shared the car this weekend, we managed to keep the starting position at the finish of Saturday's race.

Everything was easier on Sunday. in natural light. Secondly, in two days on the track I rolled into Magny-Cours and was able to pick up speed. Before the wave of pit stops, we managed to win back a lot of positions, and the change of pilots itself went smoothly. Thanks for that, including my partner and the team.

In addition, we very correctly chose the moment to enter the pits, and then we were lucky with the periods of yellow flags and the safety car. I managed to make good restarts without letting my opponents go ahead, so we came to the finish line in 5th position in the overall standings and in first place in our Silver Cu40 class.

I'm happy with how my debut Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered 29y AWS Sprint Cup went. However, there is no time to rest - we will analyze the results of the weekend and start preparing for the next race. It will also take place in France, but on a completely different track, where a 1000-kilometer marathon awaits us.

But above all, together with the whole team, we will enjoy our first victory in the 2021 season ", - noted Konstantin Tereshchenko.
